I would like to share with you an intense and powerful memory from my childhood. I was in kindergarten, and my class was busily coloring in sheets of crowns printed to help us learn to count. One crown followed by the word one, two crowns followed by the word two. That’s when it happened, the click inside my head. Starting with the row of four crowns, I carefully colored one crown red with blue jewels, and the next blue with red jewels. I made sure to stay within the lines, and I repeated that pattern for the entire row. The next row I filled with green, yellow and orange alternating the color scheme between the crowns and the jewels. It was at that moment in my kindergarten class that I knew I was going to make my living with art. By the time I was ready for college I knew I was going to be a designer.

I feel really lucky about that. Not a lot of people can say they knew at an early age what their passions will be. Except Springsteen. Baby, he was born to run!
